In our fast paced world of text messaging, IM, etc, everyone has grown accustomed to immediate answers. In fact, improving the speed of communication has made it essential to learn a new shorthand or “IM Speak”. From blackberrys, PDA’s, cellphones and blogs, this newly adopted language form has saturated our new age of technology. As a
tribute, we are
delivering this TPP quarterly newsletter to you using the “nonverbal slang” of the 21st century. Also as a courtesy, a short IM dictionary has been provided for your reference.

Many of you are probably familiar with the 48-Hour Look-Up Service. For those of you who are not as intimate, the 48-Hour Look-Up Service is a free service provided for Total Parts Plus users to submit requests for new part loading and/or verification. This courtesy service has helped many TPP users in bridging the gap in BOM analysis reports due to Unknowns.
Over the years, we’ve improved our procedures to complete most requests within the 48-Hour timeframe. From new BOM flagging with 48-Hour submissions to adding the ability to request RoHS compliance information, we are frequently seeking new ways to develop a better 48 Hour service!
FYI
We offer several different types of requests to fit your needs. Available request types are:
New Addition – Add a part number to the TPP database
Status Verification – Challenge a current PN status
Attribute Verification – Challenge the attributes of a specific PN
Material Content - Add RoHS compliance and/or lead finish information to the TPP database
Please keep in mind the importance of selecting the appropriate request type. This will eliminate delays in processing your request and help us obtain the information needed to
fulfill your request.

Other suggestions on how to keep the 48-Hour Look-Up Service working for you as efficiently as possible:
BTW- “By the way”, comments help us better understand your needs and concerns. The additional information is especially helpful for Status Verification inquiries. Feel free to send
us specific details or even supplier contact information.
TMI- Too much information? Never! Providing the datasheet link is a great help! However, please keep in mind that TPP is unable to use datasheets from any sources other than
the specified manufacturer.
121- Please keep the “one to one” rule in mind. The 48-Hour Inquiry is designed for 1 Part number. We are unable to process requests with multiple part numbers in the PN field or
part numbers submitted in Comments.
TTYS “Talking to you soon”- The most important part of any 48-Hour submission is our response to your inquiry. Including the correct email address on your submitted inquiry will help us get
the appropriate response back to you in a timely fashion.
HOAS- Hold on a second. Whoa! There is a 20 request per week limit per account. This limit is set so that we can meet our commitment to provide a two day turnaround on your
inquiries.
By keeping these guidelines in mind, we hope that you’ll find 48-Hour Look-Up Service is able to provide you with fast answers to your immediate needs. |

Did you know that you can now search each bill of materials (BOM) in your account for a specific substance by using the new Material Content Search?
Total Parts Plus’ Material Content Search allows users to search for specific substances contained within the components of a BOM by substance name, CAS number, and even find REACH
Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) by searching for their EC number. By entering a substance name, CAS number or EC number, the search results will return a report listing every part
within the BOM that contains the specific substance searched for.
