Dear valued TPP users,
We are excited to introduce this new publication in order to keep you informed of upcoming events, conferences, and new features as they are developed. As such, TPP would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support. We value your feedback and TPP’s improvements can be attributed to your suggestions. Over the past year we have added new functions and features such as the new Part Alias Technology™. Also, be sure to take note of the new Environmental Report that has been added for your convenience. Better yet, how about the new PCN daily text file alerts. Not to mention the recent addition for REACH/SVHC and Halogen-free flagging.
We have also extended the TPP family with new resellers to not only expand our territory, but to make TPP more accessible to you! Customer satisfaction has and will remain our top priority. TPP would like to welcome our newest resellers Standards and More and Exodus Communication & Technologies Ltd. We realize the importance of providing various options for user support and are always looking to increase our availability here and abroad.
Keep your eyes open for new improvements coming soon to Total Parts Plus! We are kicking off 2009 with upcoming functions such as adding Substance/Material Search capability to identify which of your Bills of Material contain substances of concern. Plus, thanks to your requests, we are in the development of adding a new Export feature for full material disclosure! These are just 2 new features to be added during the first quarter of 2009. There are many more to come!
Thank you again for all of your contributions that make Total Parts Plus the preferred provider for obsolescence and material content solutions.

NEW USER FRIENDLY FEATURES! |
|
| |
- REACH/SVHC and Halogen-free flagging
This new feature identifies the 15 named Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) under the European Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals Reach legislation.
Additionally, Halogen-free products will be flagged and tracked for reporting purposes. Users will be able to submit any board-level electronic component through Total Parts Plus' web
application and generate the named material, weights and measures required for REACH reporting.
- PCN daily text file alerts
Users may now elect to receive a daily text notification on any new PCNs and/or PDNs that are posted. An expansion of the current PCN Alert configuration, the daily text option provides
additional preferences for receiving alerts beyond exact matches and alternates. For example, users may elect to include wildcard matches.
- New Environmental Report
In response to the increased request to combine obsolescence data with RoHS compliance information, TPP has added the “RefPN Flag/Process Information” report to the Material Content Analysis
dropdown. The new environmental report includes part status, reference PN availability and end-of-life information fields to the RoHS compliance and lead finish data.
- Part Alias Technology™
A high performance analysis, this tool cleanses and identifies part number matches for unknown parts. A new enhancement to the Parts Plus application eliminates incomplete reporting and
analysis due to these unknowns. The user-friendly interface ensures that all AVL/BOM parts are recognized for attributes such as obsolescence status, lifecycle, PCN's, secondary sources, RoHS
compliance status and declaration information.

Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemical substances also known as REACH. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has named 15 substances of very high concern
(SVHC) which may require notification and authorization if your article contains any of these substances.
Article 33 of the regulation states that if you ship an article (your product) that includes an SVHC* (>0.1%w/w) you must “provide the recipient of the article with sufficient information
to allow safe use of the article including, at a minimum, the name of the substance.” Manufacturers will be given 45 days from the time of the request to provide safety information for
the SVHC’s present in their articles.
